yeah the 130i is one of a beast, faster than most of the stock E60...

however I still would not pay the price level of E60 for this little go kart
good one Peter

Just tried out the hidden menus in the gauge display, and our digital speed reading is in either menu 8.01, 8.02, or 8.03. Not in 7.xx like other BMW's. I didn't bother taking a drive, because it's raining and I just waxed the car yesterday

For people who want to access the hidden menu or don't know what I'm talking about, go check out this thread ---> http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...118&#entry73118

Ah, just beat me to it!

Again, the digital speed readout is located in 8.xx, not 7.xx as listed in the other thread.

I've hear that you can just hold the button even when the car is running.... just hold the button and release when the menu pops up.... then press one to list the menu.....

how about someone takes a video?
I'm afraid to mess up something or reset my service intervals or something

YA! I beat you... J/K

Oh its in 8.xx not 7. cool thanks for the update. Else when I go look for it I'll be like WTF where is it!

I still think they should have added the digital speedo in the middle LCD between the speedo and tach. Like when you toggle between MPG Range and all that... one of them should be a digital speedo. I would have liked that.

perfect idea, and mine had only 1-8th menus. Actually you push it in and then when you have the menu you can start the engine.

You must follow through in the steps in order, because the hidden menu starts off in a "locked" mode, so you have to "unlock" it first. Or else when you try to go to the menu (EG: 8.xx), it will kick you back to the normal temperature display.

Here are the steps: (For my example, I will use a VIN with 12345 as the last 5 digits)
1) Add up the last digits of your VIN to get your passcode. EG: 1+2+3+4+5=15. So 15 is your passcode.
2) Hold down the odometer reset, turn the ignition to radio ready mode (look at notes if unsure), and immediately let go of the trip reset.
3) You will see the display between the tachometer and speedometer change to something like 1.xx
4) Keep pressing the trip reset until you hit sub-menu 19.xx. Let go of the trip reset, wait for 1/2 seconds, and it will automatically advance into the 19.xx sub-menu. EG: 19.xx ---> 19.01
5) In sub-menu 19.xx you will see code xx. Enter your passcode which you figured out in step 1. Enter the passcode by simply pressing the trip reset button. Pause on your passcode for it to register.
6) Now all of your menus are unlocked, and you can go through each of them to see random mumble jumble.

The digital speedometer and tachometer display is located in the 8.xx sub-menu. And check out 2.xx sub-menu for a really kool show.... I'll let you guys try that out on your own

Notes:
*Radio ready mode is 1 press for people with start/stop button, 1 turn for people without.
*To go back to the "main menu" (1.xx, 2.xx, etc.), hold down the trip reset button.
*You cannot screw up your car by doing this, because you can't change anything in the menus. It is merely for diagnostic purposes, with some other information.
*If anything is to happen, menu 20.xx sub-menu resets the display. As another peson mentioned in the other thread, when you reset the display, it also clears your trip odometer, and you have to enter your date and time again.

Peter diky for the video,
that small beast lighter than our e60, makes in 5 sec 100 and then all the way w/o any effort to 200 and pass till 260km/h, it is pricey, but neat little beast.

Imagine a debadged and then beat a 535d on the long run

and only a few mods Attachment 18136
Ats77,

I bought a 120i from my brother. It is an amazing toy but without the proper power.

Now I am planning to get a 130i for daily use and replace the Golf R32. Just start to dreaming with the possible mods...
