can someone explain to me why the 295 torque is too low and why low torque is not good? the car does have414 hp and can clearly move fast so i dont see what the complaint is about. im waiting to get one with the retractable hardtop, as soon as i can convince the wife,

M3 mpg - 14/20
Stock 335i mpg - 17/26
I would like to see the Dinan 335i mpg numbers. Really how much gas would you save.

That is not how M-powerplants work.
Horsepower is derived from torque and rpm. More horsepower can come about in two ways, make more torque, or make torque at a higher rpm. The M-philosophy is to use higher rpm's to make their power.
These are performance cars. Buy a Prius, if you want to save fuel.
M3 mpg - 14/20
Stock 335i mpg - 17/26

But I would not get a M3, I get a 2nd hand Ferrari with that kind of money.

This is one of two reasons why I don't like the new M3 - I don't agree with this philosophy. Torque is beneficial at lower speeds which is within the range of everyday driving.
The other reason is because the M cars shine at speeds way past the legal limit here in the U.S.

DINAN stage 2 (S2) 335i is $22k per Roundel article. No supporting numbers and butt dyno only in article. The author suggested an M3 would NOT want to bet Pinks. Nonsensical statement without data to back it up. But you know there will be several S2s out there so we should get data at some point on head to head
