I'm new 545i owner, just picked it up a few weeks ago. But, I've owned BMWs for ever, it seems. I have had 2 E3s, 2 E12s, 1 E28, and 3 E23 745i Turbo cars. The E28 was a nice 535i, 5 speed but I needed more power. I got seduced by the 745i turbo cars and sunk WAAAAAAAAAAY too much $ in them, but Oh MY GOD what a rocket. They were rare cars and as parts got more rare (read expensive) I had to find another fix for my need for speed. Hence the 545i. I hope that I'll be able to tinker and work on this one like I've done the others!

Welcome and congrats on the V8. It must be the smoothest rocket you have ever had

The V8 is raw power that comes alive with my 6 speed. The turbo cars were autos and their power was more linear, and once spooled up was like a looooooooooooooooooooooong rocket ride that made your eyeballs stick open. But, they weren't drivable, if you know what I mean.

I must confess that I thought that there would be more contact with the "members" of the forum. In that regard, I am disappointed. Ah well, I'll do as I must without the support network.

Stick around a bit and jump into some discussions and you'll quickly see that there's a ton of "contact" here. I think you're jumping in during the holidays and many of our regular members (me included) have been busy with other commitments, etc.

This board is pretty much the strongest support network on the internet for the E60 so give it a little more time and don't judge it by a few days during the holidays...

P.S. - take a look at the sticky at the top of this forum (click here to see it) and take a few seconds to fill in the information it requests in your profile. Trust me it'll make things much easier as you hang out here!

+1 and congrats on your latest BMW ....as Rudy says, this is THE best forum for those that love the E60, there are even some members that don't even have their E60's anymore that still hangout and contribute to the discourse, trust me, if you stick around the disapointment won't last.

P.S. Posting pics of the new baby is the best way pull them in.
