It?s not silly to have a good looking bimmer in Winter - and thank?s for the tire tip
Couldn't have put it better myself! I get similar comments about my 18" winter rims and only once had a problem with snow whilst I was in the Obertauern (Austria) ski-resort... but everyone had problems because of 1m snow fall overnight! That problem lasted about 5 minutes and I was then on the main road without any grip problems.
The roads are typically well looked after / gritted / salted regularly, so driving on larger rims is not an issue. And for those few occasions where you struggle, you would probably struggle with smaller rims as well. IMHO the extra one or two struggles are worth having in order to have great looking rims for about 4-5 months of the year.
M167s are a good choice for winter because they will not show the dirt as much. My M135s are a bit a nightmare to keep clean, but they came free with the m-sport pack.
