Hi and thanks for being here. I was beginning to think my only E60 contact was the $250/hour guy that lives 50 miles away. My first post was in reply to a post about a Secondary Air Injection issue, similar to the one I'm having. I have hope now that someone can offer their experience with what seems to be a common issue.

Welcome to the forum. Just to follow up on your last post; unless I'm mistaken, if there is any failure point in the SAI system, a permanent fault code will be logged and your check engine light will stay on. I've looked at many M5X and S5X engines with bad SAI systems, and never once was I able to get the CEL to go out without replacing something.
