BUMP BUMP BUMP
please let Santiago know if you are still or (newly) IN, thx.

Here's a recap:

* Tuesday 17 July 2006 - Check in at the Lindner Hotel Kaiserhof, Landshut. Owners' meet that evening - private room TBD.
* Wednesday, 18 July - Dingolfing (leave hotel by NLT 07:15) - Morning and afternoon sessions at plant with lunch provided by BMW.
* Wednesday, 18 July - evening back at the Lindner Hotel for possible tour of city of Landshut - sponsored by hotel - costs extra.
* Thursday, July 20th - Check out of Lindner Hotel and drive to Munich. Factory tour 12:30 to 3:00.
* Thursday, July 20th - After factory tour (16:00 or so), drive down leisurely from Munich to Oberau taking the sights, check in at the Forsthaus-Oberau in the early evening.

*********RESERVE YOUR ROOMS IF YOU'RE SPENDING THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY IN ********
***************GARMISCH WITH THE GROUP - CASTLE, ZUGSPITZE TOURS TBD****************

* Thursday night - dinner at Forsthaus hotel and group meet - then go down to Garmisch (9 KM south) to hang out.
* Friday, 21 July, go to the castle and to the Zugspitze or stay in Oberau/Garmisch - whatever everyone wants to do. This is all pay as you go. I will not make any arrangements for this. We can just do it on our own, or Bruce at the hotel can put it together for us. YOUR CHOICE.

* Friday PM = End of meet - shake hands, kiss the babies and bid farewell.

Remember also - Dingolfing: Children under 14 not allowed.
Munich yes if accompanied by adults.

And no cameras, phones, or any kind of recording device are allowed at either factory

Tchuss!
I guess there is a mix up of dates as Tuesday is the 18th and not the 17th (Monday) and Wednesday is the 19th and not the 18th. Please note that there are people that have booked the hotel from the 17th to the 19th, so one day earlier.

.................................................. ..........IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT...................................... .................................
.................................................. ..........IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT...................................... .................................

I am now closing all new sign ups for this meet. As a matter of fact, I will have to turn down some of you because we no longer have two groups of 25 at the Munich factory. We're still good for Dingolfing for 60 people but Munich and the FIZ-Meile are only allowing me 25 people each and I have over 30 that have confirmed. Now I am faced with sorting by date who confirmed when and when I get to 25 that'll be it.

I had scheduled two groups of 25 for Munich also, but since I didn't get much response when I asked for it, they canceled one group.

I will post the names of who is still on for all three places. If bad comes to worse, we can draw names there, but I think that would be unfair for the people who responded in a timely manner when I asked the questions.

There are still about 12 people who have not confirmed, but no matter what - there's no more room - waiting list only.

Now, the rest of you are still welcome to join us for the fun and the camaraderie, but the lists are full for the factories and the research and development center.

Best Regards,
Santiago

PS I willl post the final list next week. I'll be at the Berlin Air Show this weekend and I have no time to do it now.

OK, here's the deal.

We now have 37 people fully confirmed to ALL three activities (16 people plus their guests), and a total of 63 signed up. 18 others signed up early on, but I never heard back from again (18 plus their guests, for a total of 26 more people).

***We can have 60 people at Dingolfing - in two groups of 30***
***We can have ONE group of 25 for each the FIZ Meile and Munich - Werk 1.***

I am NOT going to go through the list and sort by date who confirmed first - too much work and besides I'm not going to be the referee for who goes and who doesn't. Therefore, some of you will not be able to attend some of the planned activities.

As I see it now, there are 21 spaces left for the FIZ and Werk 1 because my Daughter and I, and my friend Rainer and his son are going to all of them.

We can do whatever you guys want to do to determine who the other 21 will be once we are there - draw names, have a lottery, volunteer to stay back - whatever.

Here's the list as I see it now - the upper half is all the people who have confirmed as of last week. The bottom half, some people signed up long ago and never responded to any message I sent, and some people never confiormed the FIZ or Werk 1

Hi,

currently I'm collecting my own private iDrive issue and wish list. I do this in german (Word Doc). If you would like to put some own issues on this document (maybe to hand it over to an enginieer in Dingolfing) feel free to mail me at Coyote330d@gmx.de (english is also fine ).

Please - if possible - mention not only an issue or wish but also a solution (as simple as possible) to solve the issue.

Current issues are:

Navigation
  • Search for special targets is complicated
  • No zoom in on crossings / turns
  • Voice recognition on address book entries
  • Voice recognition for special targets (e.g. "Next fuel station")
  • Improvement on turn announcements
  • Intermediate targets (navigation prof.)
Phone
  • Switch between Hands free and mobile phone
  • Steering wheel dial button causes direct redial instead of redial list
  • Warning tone on mobile remaining in Snap-In
Audio
  • Switch of audio source via steering wheel button skips external aux
General
  • Permanent refueling warning below 50km
All of these points refer to CIP20 and - as far as I know - also to CIP22 (which seems to be current).

Guys, I heard back from BMW Munich over the weekend. We have 30 spaces. Mind you - I HAD two groups of 30 set up but they took one away for lack of response. Sorry.

Her message is below. I think we have 40 confirmed so all can go to Dingolfing, 30 to Munich and 25 to the FIZ - actually 26 and 21 respectively. I have four spaces at each booked from day one.

"Unfortunately we are not able to open a second tour on that day. When we got the information from you that there will probably be only a few who want to see the Munich Plant after having visited Dingolfing we gave that tour to another interested group, sorry.

The maximum for the tour of the Munich Plant is 30 persons."

And to clarify another point - my "meeting is closed" notice is sort of ambiguous. The plants/FIZ visits are closed. But if anyone else would like to come out and join us on the after-plant get-togethers it would be great - just the parking would be problematic.

Cheers!
