How are our numbers for the meet progressing ?
12 people have made reservations at the Lindner Hotel Kaiserhof, for a total of 24 people attending. Some have reserved 2 and 3 rooms. I know of a couple more who are coming for sure, but I won't count them until I have them as "reserved" in a room.

We have a total 52 people who have signed up, but some of them I have nothing but a screen name and have never heard back since they signed up.

And still no word from BMW Munich...

WE'RE ON FOR MUNICH!!

Just got this:

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Plant tour BMW Munich Plant

Confirmation for Thursday, July 20th, 2006 at 12:30 h, for 60 persons (2 groups).
Reservation number qc4musUdMl / 1ATWA9kOTb

Dear Mr. Fonseca,

We have great pleasure in confirming the above visit time for your Munich Plant Information Tour.

The programme will last approximately 2? to 3 hours and will provide you with an overview of the important stages in the automotive production process. Your meeting point will be TOR 1, Dostlerstra?e.

Please note that the maximum group size is 30 persons.

Further details for your visit to our company are contained in the attached information sheet.

Please feel free to contact us for any questions you may have.

For further information on accommodation please contact the Munich Tourist Information, tourismus@muenchen.de

We are looking forward to your visit.

Yours sincerely,

Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I will check with the Tourist Board and see about staying in Munich Thursday night. Then on Friday we can just go a for a drive around the Chiemsee and hang out or down to Garmisch - then everyone can go on their own or stay together longer.

I haven't gotten ANY responses from anyone about Thursday and Friday so I'm not going to plan anything else.

The Munich tour is at a perfect time as we'll check out of the Kaiserhof in the morning for a leisure drive to BMW Munich.

The only thing that's not clear is the "maximum allowed" of 30 persons. So far we only have 24 confirmed at the hotel, so we may not reach 30 after all - we'll see. We'll cross that bridge when we get there

Regards,
Santiago

UPDATE ON BMW MUNICH:

The maximum is 30 people. They can not split the group like at Dingolfing so Munich will be first come-first served. That means all of you that have already made reservations at the Kaiserhof will be able to participate in the BMW Munich vist as well.

When the list of "with reservation" hits 30 people, I will close the Munich visit. You are still able to come to Dingolfing and the rest.

I have 24 people with reservations right now so we're still OK overall.

Regards,

Santiago

PS Parking at BMW Munich will be at the Olympia Park - probably outside - I don't know. Does anyone know?

You're welcome.

My idea has been all along to have a room reserved from 15:00 to 21:00, or 18:00 to 21:00 on the 18th so we could come in, check in and come down to meet everyone and hang out, but the hotel will not do it unless someone is accountable for it in case we don't end up using it.

NO ONE has expressed an interest on having a room - besides you- so I'm not going to reserve one on my name and be stuck with the cost when no one wants to use it.

If when we get there, they have one available and we want to get it, we find out the cost, take a collection and get it then. If they're all booked - oh well, we'll meet on the street or down in the garage.

About Neuschwenstein - we can just drive from Munich on Friday - it's 57KM down the road. I am waiting on info on Munich hotels, or we can drive there on Thursday night and spend the night there instead and go to the castle on Friday - again, no one has suggested anything so I'm doing this in a vacuum. I hope you all like the plan - if not, oh well...

I have the final roster with names, but I will not post that. I only have it for BMW's security requirements.

As I said in the previous post, I have 53 people signed up for the trip, but only 24 people booked at the hotel. Several have not provided me with anything other than a screen name. As of right now, I'm only counting the people who have actually reserved a room at the Kaiserhof.

Take care

Santiago

Hi guys,

I found this threat by luck and it sounds nice. I maybe also interessted, but this topic is so hard to get the basic out of it.

Wouldn't it be an idea to setup an own topic just with the facts and the main contact mentioned (santiago) - without discussions?

I maybe not interested in staying at the hotel but just come by (life near Heidelberg).

Hello Volkmar, very good ideea indeed. On our forum, www.bmwclub.ro, at the last meeting, we faced the same problem, and we made in the end, a thread with just the important facts, so no questions, there.

Santiago, this is a very good ideea. Otherwise, newcomers to this thread, will be lost in hundreds of posts, just to get the facts.
