NEW DEVELOPMENT!!
I heard from a friend in the US who was recently in Munich for a BMW function that there's another place worth a look in Munich. It's called the FIZ-Meile (FIZ Mile in English?) and it stands for "Forschungs und Innovations Zentrum - or Research and Innovation Center. It is in the North part of Munich.
I contacted the center and I have been offered a tour of this in the morning of the 20th at 09:00. The only catch is that they only take 25 people - no more, so if you're interested, drop me a note and sign up.
We are still scheduled for the 12:30 factory tour in Munich. Of course, the 19th will be spent at Dingolfing.
So, those of you who can stand some technology discussions (Engineering stuff) send me a note and I'll add a column on the roster for attendance. 25 spaces only!! And we'd have to leave the Hotel in Landshut pretty early to be there for a 09:00 tour and on to the BMW Werke for the 12:30 tour there. I don't know how the time/distances will work to do both, but I'll give it a hell of a try...
I'm waiting for confirmation from all three places. I'll come back and update y'all.
By the way - how are we doing? This thread has gone cold... is everyone who signed up for this still going? has everyone made their hotel reservations? There are several of you who signed up the first time and I still have nothing on you - never heard from you again. I will post a new roster tonight.
