How about a bay area meet on Sat July 14th. I will be in the Bay with my ride!!
I can plan a mini meet at CCH for that Sat.... We just won't have VT cause he'll be at the Malibu Meet.

We can have dinner at CCH and then head over to Santana Row. SR is half a mile down the street from CCH. And I know the tequila you're talking about...El Jardin Tequila Bar. There are plenty of other hopping bars there too. =)

For the Dinan S/C, would that basically be an Alpina B5 in terms of power?
If it is, I hope they do some serious other mods to the engine for the sake of reliability!

The Alpina motor has only 1/3 stock BMW components. Even the block is different, as I understand it. Mind you, Alpina tend to over-engineer their engines, so that they typically last longer than the BMW variant. Now that they've replaced the supercharger on mine with the latest redesign, all the clutch-slip issues seem to have passed.

Of course, with the Vortech-type supercharger, you won't have to worry about the S/C clutch, as there isn't one - it's an always-on style of charger, right? The ASA supercharger in the Alpina is more like a compound turbocharger - much more efficient, but less bottom-end torque. The Alpina also has a strengthened and reprogrammed gearbox, plus a stronger diff than the 545i/550i. If Dinan go down the S/C route, might make sense for them to ask Alpina if they can buy/licence their LSDs, designed specifically for 700+Nm applications.
