I changed to summer shoes today and now have the apropriate road presence to participiate in the meet.
The meet is also good excuse to get my current mod (Adaptive Bi-Xenon's) finished before the meet

Hey guys,
Been trying and tying to obtain the new 269 performance rims - and all dealers said "sure, you can get them in MAY!!!!".
So now the inevitable question to you - since there is no chance to get the rims I want for the meet, should I consider other 19" OEM rims from BMW, like the 230s???
I kind a had my heart set on the performance ones! So, what do you guys think??
230s: (on the black car, I know you guys are E60 specialists, not E90![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
http://smdandb2.smugmug.com/gallery/3245575#P-2-15
Pro: Easy to clean, nice rims, affordable and available easily, more "stealthy"
Con: relatively heavy, not from M GmbH but standard OEM BMW
269s:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.p...;highlight=225m
Pro: Very unique, hard to get, lighter than any other 19" (including the original 220 M3 wheels), I like the bicolor, looks more "M"
Con: XXX to clean, not ready for forum meet, may look a little "unstealthy", 700? more expensive than 230s, will hate if i ever damage the rims![Frown](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/sad.gif)
These are the moments where I regret having an E90, you guys with the M5 rims (my favorite M wheel btw) and M6 rims - so easy to fit on an E60 - but alas, the E90 is a different beast where non real M wheels will fit without major modifications (which I cannot do on a company car).
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Patrick

Hi Andy,
I did - and Pete and my trusted BMW dealer can only get them (he was the quickest) until End of April (which means, not ready for the forum) - gave me a good deal - but the forum-meet was my compelling event in the first place.
I am now - dare I even say it - considering replica rims! I hate having an E90 at the moment![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
So still seeking for advise - dont mind the meet and go for the 269s, get the 230s for the meet which are not my favorite rims or get replicas... (btw I have done my research all Sunday, I have 2 sources for very well made 220M (E92 M3 rims) replicas with the ET/offset that I can fit on my car. Nevertheless, still replicas....
Rgds

Hi,
The N?rburgring would also be my preferred venue in principle.
Last time i was there (actually, Pete and I in the RingTaxi around it)![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
I had a great time. Here's the "catch" though:
Whats cool:
- If whether allows, there are spots around the ring where you can observe the "traffic" on the Ring. Lots of fun, ecpecially when the M5 RingTaxi comes around and 20ish 5series fanatics cheer it - then the driver (either the Austrian fellow or the German lady whose name i forgot![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
will do extra-drifts for us!!!! Good fun!
- The occasional "yells of disagreement" from us when a non-BMW passes us (although can be not so funny if there is also a VW crowd present"![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
Whats not so cool:
- If the weather is XXX, then we will be standing in the rain with not much to do - cause Ring-traffic will either be limited or the Ring will be closed
- Parking - there are "sort of parking spaces" alongside the Ring, but I am not sure we would find the amount of space required for our cars
AND just checked - there is an event on the Ring on that S'day: - so no M5 Ringtaxi or other private drivers...
http://www.nuerburgring.de/events.10.0.html
The "tourists" would only be allowed on the track from 18.00 onwards..
