Hi guys,

I am starting to get REALLY exited about this... Damn this "compelling event", means I have to go for 19"s now

BTW - if any of you know a good dealer who can get 269 performance wheels quickly and with a fair deal, let me know. I am checking the ones I know, and either the quote is ridiculous or they cannot get the wheels in time.

Cheers

Patrick

bmw styling 269?? what do they look like...

Patrick, here in eu, you really have three options:

http://www.salesafter.de/ -> relative pricey, but for that a proper bmw dealer
http://www.msreifenfelgen.de/ -> Have done business with Murat there - price there is very good..
http://www.lissy-car-tuning-parts.com/ -> Have done business with Thorston Lissy - very pleasant fella

i was considering getting a e90 before i ordered my new car. In my eyes, the best set of 19 were the M225 wheels, then the 230...

greetings

ps. glad that the 19" plague has finally caught up with you

Pete, we're gonna have to throw in some incentives here buddy !!

if we get more than 20 participants I'll start looking at getting a sponsor....
I've just put links to this event in the Expatica forums for the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France. Might generate a little more interest perhaps

HI rsyed,

The 269 are rather new, "performance wheels" they are called.

I check with my dealer (www.sales-after.de), but they were "useless" with this request (for whatever reason)

So thanks for the links, will get in touch with the other 2.

PS: here is a pic of the rims mounted! *drooool*

Hmm, found you already on the vtm forum but should subscribe on autoforum too then ^^. although i thought that was the same forum?
That's right. I was moderator on the VTM/Autowereld forum also. But, a year ago VTM and Autowereld split up. Autowereld has moved to Produpress and they share a forum together with the other carmagazine De Autogids. The new forum is www.autowereld.be. Since the split the VTM-forum has less activity and we stopped moderating that forum...

So, (beside www.e60.net ) www.autowereld.be is the place to be in Belgium...

Great to hear about the new meet!

Thank you for your PMs and for the info. And sorry only to get back to you guys on this just now.
(we were away for a ski vacation in Swiss/French Alps, then I got back to the office and there was so much overdue work waiting, I could not find a moment to post)

Anyways, I am back and very happy to get ready for the next meet!
I enjoyed the last one so much, I am looking forward to even bigger and more international one this time!
So, please sign me up!
Normally, as previously I would show up along with my girl, but as it is the busiest time of the year for her (with lots of audit controlling missions throughout the EU, often leaving and coming back also on weekends) I am not sure at the moment whether she will make it.
But I certainly will do anything to be there with you all.

Here is the thing: if I am alone to join you, I will most probably head back home in the evening after the meet.
Though if we'd make it together ? then idea of spending the whole weekend in the Maastricht area sounds great and we would certainly stay at the hotel to be able to enjoy the evening with the rest of the group. But I would say: don?t worry about booking for us at the moment, I will manage to find something even on the late notice, it shouldn?t be any problem.

Last but not least: April 26th is just 3 days before my 33rd birthday, so what better way to celebrate than with my E60 buddies, huh!?

So, I am really looking forward to the meet!

Cheers!

Jarek

Great Jarek!!

Do you think guys, that I should wear winter tires? How is the weather? It's already sunny spring here, although it was snowing like 20-25 days before

No, Nick - for sure forget the winter set up at the end of April.
As far as I know there is hardly ever any snow around Maastricht.
At least in Luxembourg there are max. 3-4 days of light snow per year, so many people don't even bother with winter tires.
I do use them (and still have them on for the moment ) since the average temperature (mornings and evenings) still are way below 9-10 degrees, which as far as I know is the border suggested temperature for winter shoes.

In return it rains a lot and heavily around here, so the winter tires actually make much better driving experience than summer set. But I am planning to switch back to summer tires way before the MEET, probably beginning of April the latest (depending on the forecasts, so far it still rains a lot, blows strong winds and remains quite cold).

But in late April we will have a beer outside, I bet! And the winter will be long gone ...

There should be no need for winter tyres at all. In fact, if I recall correctly, the normal changeover date back to summer rubber is April 15th. I've got my service appointment for the changeover set for April 9th, which also means I'll no longer have to ease off the gas at 210 km/h in Germany

I am torn, though, my winter setup is on 138s and my summer setup is on 116s. I love my 116s but, of late, have been starting to really appreciate the aggressiveness projected by the 138s. Mrs. MacSid's voiced the same thoughts too

Let me help you with your winter wheel vs. summer wheel decision making here... get yourself a set of 19" OEM rims for summer, that will make decision making process much more straight forward
