Then gents, why don't you lace up some skates and try it - you still may not be interested (probably because you'll spend the entire game getting knocked on your ass), but I GUARANTEE you'll think of it as a real sport
I was All-State at Defensive End, I know what a "real" sport is, and I have knocked plenty of people on their arse already. How hard is it to knock someone who's standing on ice down anyway?

Damn - I was hoping some of the Pittsburgh Penguin fans on this forum would back me up. I guess they are too afraid to let go of the bandwagon, they might fall off!

Actually, Rudy is a huge Pens fan as well as a kindred Steelers fan. I can appreciate Hockey as a sport more so than say, Golf, Poker, Billiards, et al. Bottom line anything you can do when you're 80 or drinking beer heavily is NOT a sport.

Pjinca, someone should just define the NHL to this guy.....
Its pretty closed minded and an insult to all Hockey fans and players to say its not a sport.

If you read my previous quote carefully, I didn't say Hockey wasn't a sport, I said I can appreciate it as a sport more than the others listed - I just have no interest in it. Kind of like soccer, yes it's a sport (world's most popular) but it bores me to death.

Never said, it was you that said Hockey wasnt a real sport
You quoted me, so it was a natural assumption.
