C, Nobody asked who calibrated your TV, just what brand you had.
Hahahahahaha! I just realized you had the "Proud to be Pinoy" logo on your sig. That's great! What a dick!

C is completely right on calibration.

It really is outstanding to see what it can do. The most dramatic increases are found at 50+ inches but there is a good bit of difference in 42+ tv's as well.

For LCD it will really help that greyscale and turn as much of it black.

It is well worth the money.

Very nice. I seriously considered this TV. After agonizing over it for a while, I decided I didnt need "the best" and went with the extra 5 inches. Im not unhappy but you made a great choice. I almost wish I didnt have the space needed for the bigger one. Then my decision would have been made for me.

Sony XBR2 SXRD LCD 60". It has been custom calibrated by ISF Calibrator, Kevin Miller. Mr. Miller is considered one of the pioneers in ISF Calibration. If you are into HT and have not had your display calibrated by an ISF Professional, you have no idea what you're missing, especially if you have a high end display. It's worth every penny. He spent 2 hours on my TV, pulled out a $12,000 spectrometer and fine tuned every aspect of my TV. Aside from the blacks being perfect, the color, hues and pixels are absolutely perfect. The brightness and contrast is exactly where it needs to be. The tones are fantastic. But it's really the blacks that just make it so amazing. When I look at my TV in 1080p, it's like I'm looking through a window. It's unreal!

If you live in the NY area, I highly recommend Kevin's services. He has a 2 month waiting list, but it's well worth it. Cost starts at $400 and you get 3 inputs for that price. Most of his work is done for those that have dedicated theater rooms with 110"+ screens. However, he does do many 60"+ high end displays that people use as their HT display.

Kevin is also very famous, as he contracts for CNET and reviews almost all of the top televisions on the market each year. In fact, he's currently at CES checking out the latest and greatest, as we speak. If you look at his site that I listed above, you will see something called "The Miller Channel Archive". Take a look at all the TV's he's reviewed for CNET since 2003. It will blow your mind. The man means business and I couldn't be happier with my Home Theater.

PS - Member poleposition recently contacted Kevin for his services. A display must have at least 100 hours under it's belt, before Kevin can work on it. There is no doubt that when Kevin is done with polepositions display, the picture will be phenomenal. I look forward to seeing it after he does his magic.

Calton turned me on to this guy. I called him to discuss and he was booked thru February. Didnt really bother me too much because you need 100 hours on the set before he can touch it anyway but I am very much looking forward to this calibration. To be honest, Im not that much of a believer as I cant see it getting any better so Im hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
