Here you go puck

this is what i would recommend for you.

the 800u series is extremely good and is hard to find something outperform it for the price. The only ones ive seen do better is pioneer and runco and fujitsu in their higher lines but right there you are looking at double the cost atleast.

I've got a Hitachi 42in Plasma. It's 3 years old so just a 1080i. It's plenty good enough for me.

Panasonic hands down

Newegg.com for prices on the latest ones

they are very close to Pioneer Kuro class in reviews and black level testing. It really cant be beaten with the big sales going on right now too.
+1 on the Panasonic. Their Plasmas are phenomenal.

Pioneer 50' plasma

if you can swing the cash, absolutely no question of Pioneer. All pieces are made in Japan and USA. Panasonic is a close 2nd.

The Pioneer Elite Kuro's are the best on the market. No question about it. Best blacks.

This is very true and is primarily because Pioneer introduced a slightly tinted screen that Panasonic custom makes for them. Using a regular untinted glass screen it still has superior blacks but not nearly by leaps and bounds as one would think for the price.

I drool everytime i see Elite models, it just screams class and luxury.
