E91 325i, manual 6 speed, Titan Silver with black leather seats; Advantage + Dynamic package. Alll in all a very nice car, but with some glitches in quality (a pre-production car, July 2005) and way too small for our expanding family.

According a recent U.S. survey of new car owners, about 4 out of 10 model year 2007 E60 owners replaced another BMW. About 1/2 of those replaced vehicles were 5 series, one-quarter where 3 series, and one-quarter were other kinds of BMWs (X5 & 7er).

The next most common brand traded in was Mercedes - mostly the E Class but some also from the C Class. After that, other popular models traded in were the Honda Accord, Audi A6, Toyota Camry, and Lexus ES350. It's also interesting to see how many vehicles such as minvans and pick-up trucks were mentioned.

I sold my 2001 E38 740i sport to get the 550. The other question is ... what to buy next?

I'd have to agree with that particular survey.....
I traded an '04 Mercedes E270 CDI Avantgarde for my new 530d.
This is soooo much better, and glad to be back in a Beemer after a brief experience on "the other side".

I'll stick with BMWs for life.

Next on my shopping list, M5 (I wish ) 535d (more likely )

Sold my 2002 GMC Sierra Crew Cab 2500HD with 8.1 and allison and my 2003 20' Baja Outlaw with 350 Mag. Was selling the boat anyway so I didn't need the truck anymore so I figured I might as well buy something really fun.

Traded a 2005 M6 (got money back) against an LCI 535d. The M6 was quite the best car I have ever owned (particularly from a driving perspective) but just not practical to own in London (lousy fuel economy, filling up every couple of days etc.). The 535d has now had the DMS magic applied and is almost as much fun and infinitely more practical.

2000 Audi A6 2.7T - great styling and good for skiing, but much happier with the BMW.
