You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.
You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy.
You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.
You didn't get mad when the Pentagon misplaced $2.3 tril...lion.
You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.
You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.
You didn't get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on said illegal war.
You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq.
You didn't get mad when you saw the abu ghraib photos.
You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.... See More
You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.
You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden.
You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.
You didn't get mad when we let a major US city drown.
You didn't get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.
You didn't get mad when the debt went up $5 trillion under Bush.
You finally got mad when.. when... wait for it... when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick. Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all ok with you but helping other Americans... well fuck that.

now im completely impartial to the whole thing, honestly i didnt vote nor do i care really either way. i do understand that its a huge topic of very heated debate. to be honest i'm completely non political and unbiased, between either party. i like to look at an issue and just see it w an unbiased eye before i make any final decisions on where i stand, as most rational people do. ive read all the opinions posted so far about this, and i wasnt looking for anymore debate.. feel free if u want to though ill read.

anyways i came across this quote and although crude had alot imo of good "points" "questions"? idk? what do u all think? i chuckled as i do for most everything going on.... what i did think to myself was could someone right-wing(ish) write one of these from there point of view? for the non-politically savvy that could make someone like myself chuckle as well?

also i know theres alot of u who dont live here so u might be unfamiliar w whats going on.. but from what i heard america is now like canada or something

thx, skl

Skele:

Some of the stuff in your quote are dead on. Others, not so much. But very very interesting.

What pisses me off is that these fucking toolbag dipshits think that people who don't support the healthcare bill don't care about their "fellow Americans" and that they don't care if the lower class eats it. We all want people to be healthy and get healthcare, but at what cost. These half wit idiots don't bother to read past the first page. Healthcare and money for all!! Yippee!!! Get the bonfire going and get the guitars ready!

ive never even read past the first page.... whats the deal in the absolute simplest terms? x amount of people arent covered, prez says he wants every american covered. and no trouble from the ins agencies about pre-existing conditions. its gonna cost x amount of dollars, taxing the upperclass will pay for it. upperclass upset cuz they dont wanna pay for johnny 23 and white's insurance. is that about it in a nutshell?

cmon lurkers chime in!

uh oh, not another one of these topics....

the main problem IMO is that the illiteracy rate in the USA is ~20% (thats one in five people do not know how to read)...the 'functional illiterate' rate is even higher. so theres a whole lot of sheep out there who just do what theyre told.
im sure if u ask the majority of these people who were protesting to define this big bad "socialism" they were afraid of, they wouldnt have a clue. theyve just been programmed to think socialism = bad. NOW all of a sudden theyre spewing 'we cant afford it'...well where were these sheep when the USA was fighting two wars AND cutting taxes at the same time? simple finance tells you that that is just a road to ruin.

(im not even gonna mention the racism behind all this)

ok, this might get ugly. (flamesuit, on)

Completely agree with you, but it's always the same. One party has a reputation for spending like no tomorrow and the other one is the "small government, low taxes" party that CLAIMS they will save money and reduce the deficit. When the truth is neither of the parties is worth a shit really. They are both whores to lobbyists who spend way more than any of us could ever afford. Anyone else wonder why banking reform hasn't happened yet? Since trading in junk is what got us here in the first place?
Then there's the proverbial sheep who go the way whatever news anchor they prefer tells them to go, not because they've actually read up on it. They are far too busy (read Stupid) for that. Most don;t even know the capital of their own states, much less where Iraq or Afghanistan is. They remind me of a incident: I was leaving Grand Central Station in NYC, there was a bank of doors (had to be at least 20) and everyone was waiting patiently in line to exit through ONE DOOR!!!! I stood there for a second then went to one of the other doors and found that it was open and fully functional. Those types of sheep annoy me.

I am like u skele

non affiliated

My viewpoint is this: I think that we all should back healthcare reform, as a general statement.

That said, I am concerned that there was absolutely no bipartisan agreement on the "passed" bill. Not one republican voted in favor, and equally, some democrats voting against it.

I am very very concerned about that.

I also believe the higher taxation on higher income people is wrong. I am also concerned about that.

I am also concerned about my healthcare...just got a note from my employer saying "stay tuned, we have no clue what this law means yet"

I voted for Obama, because of some of the items you quoted...war, mortgage crisis, more war, dead americans, more war. I don't agree with this bill being forced through as it was. It feels as if Obama did it so he can show something has been accomplished in the last year. I wouldn't quite call it an accomplishment. I don't think he could claim that for another 15-20 years when we have some historical data.
