Well, I ordered the V1 Today after all the information that I collected. As far as why, well, I beleive that the arrows will provide additional information, and with the ability to upgrade, felt that it was for me. I think that there is a point, where the additional Radar range has a point of diminishing returns.
As a Side note though, I do not think that any of the "remote" detectors will be able to handle laser as well, as those mounted on the license plates, and will be adding either the Blinder or Escort ZR3 laser Detectors/Jammers to cover that aspect. I am currently leaning toward custom install of the ZR3 because of it's ability to designate weather coming from the front or rear.

I just drove up to Columbus, OH from Atlanta, Ga. this weekend (great car for a road trip!!!!).
I was lasered 3 times on the trip, scarred the shit out of me. I thought I was a gonner for sure, but he didn't come after me.
In any event, it was too quick for me to respond. I try to only drive 10-13 miles over the speedlimit. Maybe I wasn't too fast.
BTW, all of these were in OHIO. Didn't even see a single officer the rest of the way up....

James, did you see the ossifers? Sometimes, 'specially around airports, the laser goes off from all of the radar, I guess. Also, in the X3 trip, my wife's cell phone repeatedly tripped the V1 laser when ringing out. Got so bad, I would turn V1 down and just hope I saw the lights until she got through playing finger hop scotch with the telephone.

Hey JDN!
Yep, I saw them 2/3 times. It was dusk out. I guess I didn't realize you could use Laser at night, but I don't see why not.
I'm heading to Columbus today, then will head back to ATL on Thursday.
The thing I'm really 'missing' is the built in Phone. It would have been so handy on Sat to have been talking for the 2-3 hour con call without the headset.
Still a quandry on the whole Bluetooth or built in phone option. Ugh. If the Bluetooth quality sounded as good as you hear BMW Assist, it would be a no brainer (even though I'd have to buy the Treo 650 or Razor - currently have Treo 600) and then buy the Bluetooth module.
Talk to you later,
james
