That's bullsh*t. An officer's job in to contain the suspect, not dispense punishment just because his adrenaline is pumping. The guy was face down in a defenseless, submissive position, and that was a cheap, pu$$y shot by the officer. He needs to learn self control. He was just mad because some criminal punk could outrun his fat a$$. Yeah, real tough guy kicking someone on the ground. Take off that badge and I'd like to to shove that foot up his a$$.
Oh, and I'm not anti-cop. My grandfather was with the California Highway Patrol for many years, and my brother was an MP in the Army. I have great respect for those officers who do not abuse their authority.

I?m no candy ass or ?bleeding heart? on issues like this, but Calvin makes sense. We all deserve effective but reasonable treatment when confronted with law enforcement.
But damn-it, the courts do not punish well enough to suit me. How much time will this kid do? When will he be out on the street pulling the same crap?
Maybe it?s some judges and jurors that need the kick in the head.
This is a tough issue on which to take a firm stand ... on either side.

Your job is to "enforce the law", not hand out punishment. If you wanted to hand out punishment, you should of went to school for 8 more years, got a law degree, then became a judge.

i agree with calvin...that kick was a "bitch" move. In the cops defense people play possum and the way this guy showed no reguard for his life or anyone else's, i think 1 kick or hit was warranted. The way the second cop jumped on him with knees, elbows, and wacks with the billy club was bullsh1t. The job was already done when that gutless worm jumped on.
Its a fine line, if you were in that situation you could of felt threatened and went to handcuff the guy and got stabbed or something crazy. ANYTHING can happen...
