No, you can't tell from just watching the video. That's why the white head made the right call and let the play stand, because there was no indisputable evidence at this time. But when you take the replays and run them through a computer... This can't be done in 90 seconds, so the Ref was right, the HL was wrong, actually you've described it better: dumb!

Yep, that'S all it takes, but from what you saw on TV you can't tell unless you let the computer run over it. You don't see it from the right angle. The camer is not ON the line, so you see it from slightly behind the line. If you watch his hand, his elbow and the ball... There is space in between his elbow and the ball, and his elbow is the only thing that broke the line. His hand was a couple inches away from braking the line, therefore the nose of the ball was it too.
I am in the lucky position that a friend that owns a studio wanted to know it exactly and he invited me to a private cutting studio session. That's also why I have seen it that often... Play by play... But the game didn't get any better...

Yep. Their time will come. Holmgren did a very good job so far and will continue his work there.
I really like him. He made Favre an MVP and SuperBowl Champion and he is right on track now in Seattle. You can tell that he is a great coach when you see that the Packers seem to be lost out there now, and the Seahawks are getting better and better since he is there.

He didn't do such a bad job with Montana and Young either...

Yep, true, but I think they were great players without him too.

Iceman, see if you can get your friend to capture the images that you are speaking of so you can post them here. (As someone always says -- "This thread is useless without pictures!")

Oh, and don't you worry, we'll be back next year...

By the way, do we know how to welcome back our team or what?

Attention Steeler Nation: Here's a link to some video clips of the rally today in Pittsburgh (as well as a video to the entire coverage that lasted a few hours) where an estimated crowd of 250,000 people attended:

For what it's worth, here's an interesting editorial from the Miami Herald about the way Mike Holmgren is handling the team's loss:
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/...ts/13820417.htm

Holmgren's whining isn't appropriate -- especially from a guy who's been around for such a long time...

Here's another article from The Sports Network discussing the officiating and the performance of the teams:

Here's some more proof that the refs were completely unbiased in their officiating of the big game:
