Nice work Adam, whats the benifit of all that effort compared to just using a regular high quality camera tho ??? or was it just for the hell of it ?
The webcam has a much smaller field of view at 640x480 compared to my 10MP DSLR. The main advantage is that it helps overcome 'poor seeing' which is the turbulance caused by the atmosphere - we have to look through the entire atmosphere to see the Moon. Every single piece of the mosaic is actually an average of 300 images (the webcam AVI just takes a whole lot of images over a short space of time and combines then into an AVI video file). Then the 300 images are combined together in such a way to reduce blurring due to the atmosphere - this produces one good image, and forms part of the mosaic. So technically this mosiac is combined from 42 x 300 image = a lot of images.

Hope that helps clear things up!

As for googling a Moon image Urbantiger - why google when you can make you own

HS mate, that really boggles the mind, you need to grab yourself an LG Viewty Phone and a room with a view like mine, far more simple heheheheh.( I wish )

Really impressive stuff mate, seriously talented indeed

We hope to present our best days of winter time to you. Something from zero down to -20 degrees celsius. And snow of corse.
No 100% guarante for that but good chance for nice winter weather in February.

Maybe move around one day, depends how much there is to do in the Captial. I also want to try and see an Aurora. Are there any organised trips for seeing Aurora?

You have best chanse to see it in the north. Means some travel. I hav seen it realy faint here a few times in my whole life. Nothing compared to what i saw in 2003 in northen Sweden.

Thanks man! Much appreciated. I've spoken to a couple of astronomers from Belfast who have seen one from here, but it has to be a big event to make it this far south.
