I've not been in management. I'm technical and don't want management headaches anyways.
But my father mentioned you should find each subordinates' strengths, and work through their weaknesses. Plus encouraging team work and common goals gets the overall job accomplished.

Heading to NC tomorrow. Where in NC are you. If you mention IT and Cary I would say Triangle Research Park?

I'm stressing over jewelry...or lack of. And that song "If you like it you should have put a ring on it" Can't women be happy with perfume?

that song is an example of what is wrong with America and why the divorce rate is so high. You shouldn't be putting a ring on someones finger if you "like them". you should be in love with them.

LOL!!!! You should have erected an aluminum pole and renamed this thread Festivus!!!! Anyone see that Sienfeld episode? It's caught on!!
"The original slogan of Festivus is "A Festivus for the rest of us!" Instead of a tree an unadorned aluminum pole is used, in contrast to normal holiday materialism. Those attending Festivus may also participate in the "Airing of Grievances" which is an opportunity to tell others how they have disappointed you in the past year, followed by a Festivus dinner, and then completed by the "Feats of Strength" where the head of the household must be pinned. All of these traditions are based upon the events in the Seinfeld episode"

alright...
I got some sashimi grade tuna which I am going to lightly sear with a tiny bit olive oil, ginger and pepper, jumbo cocktial shrimp, oysters rockerfeller, parmesian crusted talapia, lemon orzo, and cranberry almond cole slaw. gonna drink a lot of delicious risling. for desert i got some crazy looking fudge stuff from the bakery and im gonna serve it with a south african sweet red that i have been saving.
I know its a lot of food, and it isnt christmasy, and it doesnt really make a lot of sense, but i thought it would be fun to make a lot of seafood i dont normally treat myself to all at once and get drunk.
EDIT: just realized the talapia doesnt fit. the pecan encrusted talapia would have been better. i may save it for another night.

Really? You thought that was the funniest? I thought I had funnier ones than that one, like: "1) I wasn;t racing and 2) you lost when you left your driveway in that piece of crap"
Anyways, a new year is coming and along with it 365 more opportunities to top anything form before
