Yes. It was the newest ship to the fleet when we went on it. It was nice, but my wife and I both decided we're not cruise people and opted to do something else this year, even though it would have been free again. Same trip, same route as yours. 10 days, same 5 islands.
I understand. My typical vacation is flying to some city in Europe with my wife, staying in some really nice hotel (usually J.W. Marriott or Ritz Carlton because my hotel points are all with Marriott) and exploring the city and the surrounding area for a week to 10 days. I went on the cruise because I knew that Victor would love it -- especially the motion of the ship. And he really did love the cruise.

If I get time, my wife and I want to visit Toyko in 2010. And maybe I'll take Victor on a Western Med cruise this spring or summer.

What are you and your wife doing this year for a vacation?

Holy crap im loving your pics Scott, but that is the one reason i hate cruises.. My dad was on the dawn when that rogue wave hit coming up the coast. He walked in water.. nah, ill pass and stick to land( i do enough boating locally) lol.. 6 hours drifting without power!? oh my goodness that is scary, and thankfully it worked out okay, but could have been so much worse. Glad you are all okay!
I cant believe that can even happen on a ship of that size. What ever happened to back up generators and such? I wonder if NCL is going to have lawsuits over this?

P.S Victor looks like hes enjoying himself in the pool the most, a true genuine smile on his face

Thanks Craig. Me being interviewed was not luck. Someone on our flight had called WSVN7 so I went right over to the camera crew because I knew where they were going to be. At that time, NCL had stranded hundreds and hundreds of passengers in the ship who did not have flights. Negative publicity tends to grease the skids as most businesses care about their reputation first.

Actualy, it was a failed ECU remap. And the RPI exhaust just would not fit the ship.

I would not be surprised if some passengers sue NCL.

Glad to hear that you and your family came out ok from that incident, it could potentially be much worse.

The ticket contract provides for binding arbitration in Miami, Florida for all disputes. The choice of forum clauses that cruise lines put in their ticket contracts are enforceable and Carnival's was even upheld by the US Supreme Court. And I really don't do plaintiffs' work so no class action lawsuit for me. Also, the ticket contract provides that passenger waives his right sue as part of a class action -- allowing for an individual lawsuit only.
