How will Universal Health care work with less money and 45 million new people in the system?
People thinking of going into medicine may indeed look into other professions where you can make more and have a better lifestyle.
Young doctors may quit. Old doctors may retire. Middle aged doctors may look for another profession. Then you have LESS doctors and MORE "insured" patients. Wait times go up. It's already difficult for patients with medicare and medicaid to get in to see a primary care doctor (and there is currently a shortage of primary care doctors) - I see this as only getting worse.

Why stop at medicine. Surely we all have a right to the best legal advice, dental care (people with dental abscesses are more prone to infections of heart valves), plumbing, heating and air conditioning, food, drink... Either "nationalize" everything or nationalize nothing.

Just a few of my rambling thoughts.

Apparently Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are heroes. I anticipate the description of their herosim. Please elaborate so I can share this with the masses.

The healthcare debate is ridiculously complicated. I automatically disenagage pundits that would use political faces to justify their positions.

AWG, I agree. I am on your side. I would love to be able to ask one simple question.

After out little convo about Kobe Bryant, you should know im not a racist. I defended A BLACK guy who was charged with raping a white girl. To a racist person this would obviously set them off.

When i said colored brothas it no different than pjinca saying hes not into hockey because hes a minority and thats for whities or whatever he said...

I used the roach simile for a more dramactic effect.
It's amazing how often people will say terribly racist things, or may hold terribly racist beliefs, and when challenged on them will present a non-sequitur such as "some of my best friends are black" as their rebuttal. If you're seriously trying to present "I defended A BLACK guy who was charged with raping a white girl", the emphasis being your own, as your defense against the very reasonable questions that are being asked of you here, it falls incredibly short.

OK, maybe I am being misinterpreted here. Can anybody tell me what Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have contributed to yours and my life?

roger, I have no wish to get into this conversation with you.

My posts and questions here are aimed solely at AlpineWhiteGirl and speak solely to the rather appalling posts she has made in this thread.
