F1 braced for BMW exit announcement

BMW's future in Formula 1 is in serious doubt amid mounting speculation that the German car manufacturer will announce its withdrawal from the sport at the end of this season, on Wednesday.

An emergency press conference has been called at BMW's headquarters in Munich, where it is suggested that the car company may reveal that it has decided to end its involvement in F1........

That would be a shame I hope the speculation is wrong, but some how doubt it.

can rule out Schumacher. Willi Webber said he is 200% sure MS will not race again. Maybe Senna as you have speculated.
Webber has now explained that he is 200% sure that Spoonface will not drive the Ferrari at the European Grand Prix. Spa and Monza are not ruled out.

BMW out of F1

Looks like it is happening.

International media have been summoned to a press conference at the German marque's Munich headquarters at 10am.

They have only been a team since 2005 when they took over Sauber.

Before then they were just an engine supplier.

Oh, agreed, of course, but it just would seem... well, disappointing if they left now, having never really dominated...

Yup

They need more time/money to build M-division SUV's.

Whats wrong with that? I caught the X6M on DW-TV last week. I thought it looked super, drove pretty well for a car above 2 tons. If i wanted a Mvehicle now, that or the X5M would be my choice.

Ever since BMW motorsport division moved away from making proper M-cars, last one being the E34 M5,.. frankenstien Mcars were a matter of time. Having said that, lets embrace the New X-Mcars just like most have embraced the bungled butt of BMW cars. hahaha..

Ok on a serious note though,... anyone here want to speculate the next runner from F1? My vote is on Toyota. A totally useless F1 campaign. Years ago Toyota used to have a slogan,..."the car infront is a toyota". Its more appropriate to have "Toyota,..a car that says you haven't quite made it!!!"

cheers
