For me, the HD movie capability isn't that important. But I've heard that there is software available to capture single shots from videos shot in the HD mode. That could be the answer I'm looking for in terms of continuous shooting~
+1 that is a good idea
I have the software, it call Adobe Premier pro CS3 and Adobe After Effects CS3 Pro
they can both capture stills or render the full movie to stills

Take a look at the 10-22 EF-S. It's L quality glass.

10-22 sample

10-22 sample 2

10-22 sample 3
these are good shots

you can use FSCapture software to capture the image, this is a Shareware and no virus so itis 100% safe

Actually, the 200 f/2 IS is -the- lens... Too bad it's so damn expensive. It was released in April 2008. List price of $6K. I am thinking of renting one for a bit just to torture myself.

Some nice shots here (not mine):

Those shots are with a 40D and the 10-22 EF-S lens?
Yes they are! I locked the EXIF, sorry. It's a wonderful piece of glass, and I picked it up on a recommendation from a Canon factory rep.

Looks like I'm going to have to pick one up. Thanks for the tip!
