In Germany you've got compulsory first letters which stand for the car's registration city.
It could be one letter, for example B for Berlin, or M for Munich, 2-letters for smaller cities, like TR = Trier, but smaller towns have even three letters required first.
So, according to this logic, a small town of Bitburg (famous for a big brewery producing a good called beer Bitburger, located almost at the German - Luxembourgish border) has three letters "BIT", and later you get either to choose combination of letters and numbers. Or, as most of people: you get "whatever comes first".
Therefore, according to this logic I've seen around here a number of times plates starting with compulsory BIT + unfortunate (in this case) "CH", plus some numbers...
It always looks a bit odd to my eyes, specialy on a pretty girl's nice car, who unfortunatelly did not understand much English (or did not think about that) while registrating her car at the local DMV.....
For example:

How about my all time favorite... IFORGOT
I heard a comedian say that his next plates would say that in case he robbed a bank, stole something, ate a light, so that when they ask if they saw the license plate number the person would say "I forgot".
