hehe... if it was a 545i hey still would have let me drive it. The only place where i am not allowed to take the E60 is to school. Cuz immature kids get "jealous" and they key the car. Happened to my friend who broguht a 2003 benz.

You are very lucky you have a dad like yours! I wish mine would have ever been like that...
Now, just think about how much this baby cost him... He lets you drive it, what means he trusts you. Don't abuse the car, and don't do anything silly. Show your Dad that he is right in trusting you!
Take good care on the car and drive safe!

The only reason that I am alive today is that the car I drove when I was 17 ran a 16.7 qtr mile at around 90mph.
It "looked" fast and handeled well (or it's day) but couldn't get out of it's own way!
It all depends on the individual, but I know at that age I would have tried to wring every last HP out of the car I was driving.
Come to think of it... That's what I do today - BUT I have over 300,000 miles and another 18 years of experience not to mention the many Autocrosses, Time Trials (on the "Big Track") and several F' Up's to put it all together.
Like anything else, there is NO substitute for experience.
See if your dad will take you to a BMWCCA driving school or an Autocross or something like that. It will give you a FAR greater respect for the car and your driving habits, talent (or lack there of). It'll also help you keep your "Fun" off of the public roads and somewhere it is Safe for both you AND the People Around You.
