There are severe weather and flood warnings in place for the East coast of the UK.

That sucks man... make sure to keep your car on a float / boat. =)
This past summer, my place / apartment flooded twice, almost a third time, but the rain died down before it got worst.
(I'm in the basement apartment, but moving in december to a new place).
The weather has been getting worst and worst each year. sooner or later, winter is going to be summer and summer is going to be winter.

Serious stuff. The flood prevention gates at Rotterdam were closed last night for the first time since they were completed in the early 90s, and will remain closed until at least 6pm today. This means no shipping traffic into or out of the largest port in the world. North Sea oil drilling has also been shut down since last night.
I live in Amsterdam's old port, and it's been wild here. at least my front door (30ft below sea level) is still above the waterline!!
