Well I think the skipping is a software problem, with older cip the same disk was working perfectly! Then suddenly some traks, afetr a few minutes, skip to the subsequent one.. any news????

I also don't have all the folders with MP3 files in the DVD.

Maybe a little more than half is shown.

Can it be upgrade?

I have a 520 Touring Business Nav (DVD).

Thanks in advance.

Love this feature of the BMW but hate the fact i cannot use my satnav properly without swapping disks...
Hi,

That's one reason why I updated my Business Nav to Professional Navigation, it has 2 slots:
1) CD slot for audio and MP3 CD's
2) DVD slot for Navigation, but also accepts audio DVD/CD and MP3's

mine also has a problem of skipping.... well, not exactly skipping but at the middle of the song there is a "pop" sound and stops for 1 seconds and then resume with ascending volume (from soft, then gets back to normal volume)... i followed all the ISO 1999 thing and burned with 8x speed (the slowest) using Nero 7, and used Memorex CD-R... and I dont know if that's the i-drive software problem as the car is pretty recent (Sept 2006 built)... anyone else have the same experience?

Thanks in advance

The easiest way to burn MP3's with perfect ID3 tags and organization is to use the Windows XP built in burning program. Simply drag your MP3's to your burner drive. You can organize them into folders however you want using folders, or a numbering system.

I did many burns to find out my CD player just wouldn't play them. I took all of the disks to the dealer and tried the iTunes disk.......It worked fine. I burnt it on my Powerbook. No need to worry about the ACC stuff, all my downloads are FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got my 2006 530xiT working MP3s like a charm.

2006 530xiT w/ Premium, Sport, Nav, CWP, Sat, July 2005 build.

1.) Clue that it wasn't MP3 capable was that the CD menu did not show "DVD" as an input source for CDs. Obviously audio CDs worked fine but any MP3 CD didn't read at all. Discovered through research here and on Bimmerfest that E61 MP3 compatibility started with Oct 2005 production.

2.) Asked my dealer to perform SIB 65 30 05 (January 2006). SIB was intended for 2006 model E60/E61 produced from March through September 2005 so my dealer had no problem with the upgrade. (others have referenced http://www.e90post.com/forums/archiv...hp/t-3793.html for more information)

3.) Purchased Nero 7. Great burning program, especially control it gives over directories and organization. Did not have luck with iTunes. Followed Lomag's settings (Data CD-ROM ISO, Data Mode 1, 9660:1999, 8x burn, finalize).

Everything works fantastic -- makes the iPod redundant, at least for the car.

Hi all,
I need help with mp3 playback.
I have a 2005 530i (non-NAV).
I just got a CIP 24.02
software update at the dealership.
That is supposed to give me MP3 playback
capability, right?
Anyway I burned a couple of mp3 (192kbps)
files using the exact settings recommended
in first post here.
I used a trial version of latest 7.8.5.0 Nero
software. In the car, I get get message
"Cannot read medium"
Any help is appreciated
Thanks
