Just ordered a new 5 series 520d with business media 
.
The ipod interface seems to be standard now, but I have 2 q's.
Does the cable come with the car or do I need to get one?
Do I need to get the "splitter" cable that connects both to the jack plug and the USB?
Apologies if this is posted elsewhere - I have looked...

your best bet is to throw your Apple piece of junk in the bin and go buy a blackberry

Also any views on the voice control, does it work or is it just a gimmick?

Car was delivered yesterday - I'm well chuffed.
The oyster/black interior is lovely and goes great with the imperial blue (just need to ban the kids from wearing jeans).
The ipod interface was very straightforwards, as was bluetooth to my blackberry.
Even the voicecontrol seems to understand me (most of the time).
My only gripe is the dealer got tyre black all over the alloys
so I had to spend an hour cleaning them up today.

Have you managed to get the emails from your BB on the idrive?

Erm no, I tried today with no success.
Is this a common issue or a "feature". Does it work using the snap in adaptor for the blackberry rather than bluetooth - anyone know?
Also if I use the snap in adaptor for th ephone can I still use the centre console USB port for the ipod?
Also had a bit of a baptism of fire last night - I picked the wife and kids up from the Take That concert at Man City Stadium. I had planned a cunning route that would avoid the masses coming out of the stadium, except I got it a bit (very) wrong and ended up in a gridlock of cars and (50,000) people
It was a bit panic stations for 15 mins but we (me and the car) got out unscathed. Oh and I found the wife and kids too...
