The F01 740i has 326 hp, so the new F10 540i should have someting like that (~326 hp). If it has "only" 306 hp like the 335i, it should be called 535i. Otherwise you could call that BS indeed.

I agree, it should have 326PS to justify being called a 540i these days. Maybe not 10 years ago, but today definitely. That doesn't make it true though.

Right now im not too fond of the looks. But i bet when they are released and have been driving around for a couple of months...ill fall in love. I remember when I saw the first e60! I thought it was butt ugly!! Now look at me, im gazing into her headlights and I feel like a high school boy in love with his girlfriend!

HEY!
I just re-read the first post and what happened to tradition?

540i - 4.0L v8 or close to 4.0L
550I - 4.8L close to 5.0L

Now a 4.0L is going to be a inline 6?

Hmmmm. I am not impressed with the looks of the rear end. I though Bangle was gone...

He's been gone just a few months. This car has been in development for at least 4 years.

No feeling the F10...the grill is too big and the front does not look good....maybe have to see it in person.

Like the front, need to see the tails lights/rear

if it's anything like the F01...it will definitely take some getting used to....

Yeah, actually, I've been starting to get used certain features on the more recent BMWs. Almost a year after getting it, I've just now stopped being bothered by the brow on the headlights being on on our E60s. With the F01, the grill bothers me still, but not as much. For some reason, throwing on a sportier aero kit seems to make all the problems go away. Like the 760iL preview I saw on Autoblog.

I wonder if the North American intro date is accurate. I've noticed on the BMW.ca website that you can only order two variants of the 2010 535xi. You can choose an Executive package or an M Sport package. the balance of the options don't show and the price is about $74,000, quite a bt lower than a loaded 2009 built up for. Mercedes Benz did this las fall with the E class and 6 months later the new E class is in dealer showrooms.
