You know, this isn't rocket science.
Either you like the car and get it or you hate it and don't. This isn't marriage...it's just a frickin car.
Whining and bitchin' about what BMW has or hasn't done with the F10 isn't going to change anything. It is what it is.
BMW is going in a certain direction....either you like it and you hop on board or you leave and get something else. Life is short so don't over-analyze it.
There are too many choices....too many damn good cars out there to be stuck with one brand for a good chunk of your life.
Even though my 550i is my 6th BMW in the last 11 years, I'm no BMW-fanboy and I don't believe in brand loyalty. I believe that you should get whatever car suits your (and your S.O.'s) needs and interests in that point in time. If I don't like a certain new model, I don't sulk and sit on my old car and wait for the next generation....I look at other brands and try something new and different. Life is too short to be stagnant.
I totally disagree that the sparse F10 reviews that exist so far are completely negative. Whatever objective tests that exist show that the F10 more or less performs about as well as the E60 (probably better in the case of the 550i). Sure, there are some nitpicking here and there but most of that is subjective. Even Edmunds concluded that in the end, the F10 will accomplish what it set out to do and will be successful.

^IMO: pete represents exactly who the f10 is targeted...definitely different from what the e60's target audience was and is....

All I can say is that the E60/61 looks very old compared to the F10/11. And even if you don't agree there are no new E60/61's being produced. So what's the alternative? MB, Audi? Not for me anyway.

Voted.
I'm surprised that so many people would settle for the F10 if its performance was the same as the E60. This is exactly why I've ruled out all but the F10 550i.

Would not change my F10 back to my old '08 E60, for any reason - there are none.
