My Ride: BMW 535xi
Model Year: 2008
The vertical line/gap, on the sides, of the trunk lid needs to be eliminated so the trunk lid opens like the 3 series. Wonder if anyone has done this body work? Seems there would be no need to touch the hinges - just the skin.

I'll take an oil pressure gauge, temp gauge, dipstick, and a decent stereo system.

+1000 Why does BMW build a drivers car then take all the info REAL drivers want from them?
Logic 7 has strong bass but the 14 speaker top Bose stereo in my 2006 Infinti M45 Sport had much better treble and mid-range sound and had much better sound clarity.

I agree. I'd like to blow up my stupid "mpg" meter/guage. What about engine temp or oil pressure or both?

I also agree with your second point Scott, my old Jeep SRT ahd a 10 speaker Boston Acoustic 800W system that worked pretty well. We get pretty mediocre stuff in the 5 er.

Again, +1000 I would love to know the temp and oil pressure on the fly.

I keep coming back to BMW (when I can afford it) because I value suspension/handling above all else. I love power too but if power was my prime motivator, I'd have gotten an MB E550 or a CTS-V.

BMW gives us the best suspension and handling of any sedan out there IMHO. But there is always room for improvement. BMW's competitiors (Audi and M make nicer interiors and the Japanese (Lexus/Infiniti) make better electronics. Our engines are competitive (but not class-leading IMHO) but they will really be top of the heap in the F10. Our cars' reliability is mid-pack.

Agreed, while it is easy to find room for improvement in the BMW lineup, I just can't see myself driving anything else (except maybe a 67 Corvette Stingray - that 427 is AWESOME!!!!). There is just something about BMW, I look at other cars and wish I had their stereo, or other features, but not once do I wish I had those cars.
