Would you add spacers to this winter rim combo?

I know mmitev responded already but yeah no prob with the 17s. I wouldn't get spacers cause unless you have mud flaps the wider track in the rear will cause more winter salt, gravel etc to kick up on to your paint. It will definitely look better with spacers tho. I use my stock 17s in winter and have a separate set of 18s for the summer. Wrt to your other post on tpms, didn't the wheels from your dads car already have em? They are definitely a nice to have, and if you can get em for a good price do it. Otherwise I might skip it, we all were perfectly fine before they were invented. Though check w a BMW tech to see if there is a way to not get a warning message if you don't have them.

Thanks, hadn't thought of the protection aspect. Where I live on the West Coast, luckily, there's no gravel on the city roads fortunately and little salt b/c of the temperate weather. Gravel only if you go up the mountains (which we might start doing more of this year).
In Canada, TPMS isn't mandated by law, so very few cars have them. We instead get a flat tire monitoring system, which still warns you of a flat, but works by way of measuring the change in the overall diameter of a tire, and when it's reduced, presumes there's a flat, and warns you. No sensors needed for that.
As far as MMI's reply:
So if your ET is 20 vs. 43 on mine, will that have any impact on my choices? Or is it that the outer edge of your wheels and mine (in stock position) would be the same? YES EXACTLY. YOUR XI AXLES STICK OUT MORE THAN RWD, THATS WHY XI ET HAS TO BE HIGHER, TO ACCOMODATE THEM. END RESULT FROM THE OUTSIDE IS ROUGHLY THE SAME.
This 5/15 combo that lots of people do is on stock wheels with an ET of 20 or for XI wheels too? NO. SEE ABOVE.
I'm a bit confused about it. Seeing he says that the end result for both the XI cars and non XI ones are the same outer edge for the wheel, because the two cars' wheels have different offsets, then why is it that he says the 5/15 mm spacer setup for front and rear is only used by those who have stock wheels? Wouldn't / couldn't those with XI cars and wheels then also use the same setup, if their wheels are currently at the same outer spot as the non XI wheels?

Sorry was a bit confusing probably. I meant that I have only seen recommendation about spacers on stock wheels.
I don't see any problem with 5/15 on xi car with xi wheels. Just haven't seen any examples/recommendations (probably because I looked for RWD examples).

His setup was Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 DSST Run Flats (225/50R17 94H) on 17" Sport Edition SE-14's, Offset: +45mm. Not sure if they still sell those tires, as a search I did on Tire Rack a week ago, didn't produce them in that tire size.

Thanks, that's what I figured, but thought to ask just in case. I'll mount the winters and see how it looks, then go from there.
