Default Won't start, shows transmission fault

Hi.
Has anybody had this problem and if so what causes it. My car after being parked on my slopping drive will not start and shows "transmission failure" it has been doing this for a week or two but has usually started after a few attempts.....but not today
The engine turns over on the starter button but no life in the engine. This has never happened when parked on level ground, always on the drive.Could there be a sensor that is not reading correctly because of the angle of the car (pointing uphill).
Just to add it's an auto box.

Any ideas please

could be a few things
Have your checked for any codes? The angle could mean a fuel pump or too low on gas .
I would be very interested after you have checked for the transmission code and any others

Sods Law. Has corrected itself this morning, I have booked it into my indi. garage tomorrow so will see if they come up with a solution. I still think its a sensor of some sort.

Did the indie report anything? My first thought was battery problem. These care are touchy about voltage but then why would it be fine on level ground... You're right, it could be a sensor. Perhaps a crankcase position sensor.
