Im getting the contant Time rest issue and my battery is not holding enough charge to flash my coding or install my Cobb.

Lotus are you picking up locally? Im thinking of going to Costco to see what they have. Was thinking of doing the seattle run, but i dont want to be stuck in a parking lot with a need for coding

Picking which up locally? A battery? I'm not that far along the line of needing to change it yet, so I haven't decided where I'll get mine from and if the savings are worth a drive south. But if you get it installed in a parking lot, I can't imagine you won't be able to / it will be bad for it to drive home, and then register the battery as new.

The flash will take about half an hour to install (it'll dump your ECU file first, then flash it), and you should turn off your angel eyes as DRL's (via iDrive) and turn off AC and stuff, to save battery, but ideally, hook up a battery charger to your posts under the hood, especially if you have a weak battery.

I don't for uninstalls (when I visit dealers) as it only take 10 minutes or so, or for map changes (couple of minutes).

Ya, I need to pick up a new battery. I thought that if it wasn't registered it would go limp. Turns out i was wrong. I guess coming from my E39 where when i changed the battery the EWS shut down the car makes me leery of a simple battery swap.

Ill leave my car at my parents place for a day so i can use a battery charger and their garage. See if that improves the battery enough to use.

Which is less than stock on both counts. Why would you get it then, even if it's an AGM?

Not entirely correct.

BMW AGM is 850 CCA and 92 ah
1350 is 770 and 95ah

Dealer shop man tells me today that is is just fine and while CCA may be stated lower, it is possible the 1350 is overall better or equal. Cost is almost identical with 10% discount on bmw AGM plus tax vs 1350 with shipping.

Good to hear. Did you get it coded already? It's more than just a simple registration of new battery, since you've changed over to AGM, so I'm curious what it takes to do it. Just got my cable in the mail, which I'm going to use for code reading initially, but is supposed to be able to code too.

very confused now. odessey website shows the 1350 as having 850 CCA, not the 770 printed on mine that arrived.

No, not installing anything just yet.

Almost certain you cannot change battery charging coding with anything cheap aftermarket as per shop foreman and bavarian technic.

Here's where I got my 770 CCA info from:

PC1350 - Odyssey batteries

I don't see if people can do fancy coding with those cables, why you can't code a new battery...

yes, well the battery itself also states 770. We'll see. My original white lead acid battery still works for now.
