Things to watch for when considering July 05 535d A Sport
Hi team,
I'm new to the forum and thinking of buying my first BMW after doing the run around these last few years with VW, Audi, Porsche... It's a July 05 535d A Sport Touring, car is very clean cosmetically and sound and drives great. But my question is are there any weak points in this model/spec I should be aware of?
Extra's are media pack, Dakota leather and errr that's it, a link to a spec sheet for an 05 would be helpful.
Thanks
Carlo

My Ride: Booked: E70n X5 40d M. Carbonblack, oyster, comfortseats, Nav Pro, Active Drive, Panoramic, Hifi PRO DSP, HUD, Alutrim, Satin ext, gloss rails, towconnector, elctric lid, alarm and more.
FS: E61 535D -06, Activesteering, Comfort seats, Hifi, M-steeringwheel, PDC, Rails, Tinted windows, Folding mirrors, Towconnector, Alu trims, Panoramic roof, ISO FIX, SonyEricsson BT-HF, 124 wheels, Alarm, Electric lid, Aburn interior, Xenons, Silvergrey and the crappy cupholders!!!
I just got mine back from problems with rew going up and down when cruising around 100km/h. It was a injector that was defective and now is goes perfect again. Now I can also feel that the power have been lacking, but the 535d have so much power so you don't feel it so well if it only runs on 5 or 5,5 cyl.
Besides that it's just to ask if it have been updated with the latest software and see if it have been in any accidents.
Standard here in Eu on the 535d is cruise control, extended ECC, armrest and steptronic. I think on the 05 model was Dakota also standard so it should not be marked as an added option. 17" 138 wheels was the factory default.
Good luck with your new car!

Hi rtm,
Thanks for the pointers, all things I've checked and in fact picking up the car on Tuesday morning assuming the dealer resolves a couple of minor issues. I'll let you know how I get on.
Looking forward to my first BMW.
