Hi

I have just taken delivery of a new 520d SE touring, the front calipers look huge, much bigger than on my 2007 520d Msport saloon. Can anyone confirm if the LCI cars have different brakes?

Thanks

nope no difference...

only if you specify "increase payload" or officials untility vehicle" option does the disc diameter and thickness increase.

Checked out the link thanks but it only goes up to June 07, my car was built Feb 08, will continue to research. Thanks for your help any way

Have looked on the link for a June 07 E61 520d and my car has the "increased pay load" set up, maybe that all 177bhp 520d E61's come with the bigger calipers?

My E61 LCI with a build date in May 2007 is a lease. When I went to the garage this fall to get the winter tires put on, the rim wouldn't fit in the front. The guys in the garage were all confused as they had ordered rims for an E61 525dT. They had to order new rims that would fit the car and I came back a couple of days later to have them fitted. So there is definitely a difference between the old and the new cars.

Could it have something to do with the brake force regeneration? That was present on the LCI 6-cylinder cars but not on the 520d when the LCI came last spring. Maybe the current 520d with the new 177 hp engine has this feature now?
