RE: Good price for OEM M5 Mirrors

Don't know if these are good or not. They don't have wiring and the light is missing, but they look almost right.
If someone has these, so I would like to hear opinions about them (or some other replicas).

I've looked at Schmiedmann's website in the past and they have a lot of good products, OEM and Reps, and members here have used them, e.g. Anzafin's splitter. When I was looking for OEM M5 mirrors, I was looking at those with auto-dimming function and they cost EUR 1400,- However I then thought do I really need that function... no! ... and then checked out the price of the OEM M5 mirrors without auto-dim, but with electical adjustment/heating/folding functions and they only cost EUR 775,- unpainted. Painted they cost an extra EUR 150. Check-out the link...

Considering that second hand ones go for around EUR 700 on Ebay, member 530d was selling them for around this price, and new they cost around EUR1500, I actually think these are a good choice and would only mean losing approx EUR 200/300 if you sold them on afterwards when getting rid of the car Good or bad deal??

I say go for it and don't worry about the lack of the auto-dimming feature.

I'm going to order the M5 mirrors (painted) tomorrow

Yours look great with the Silver and Black combo, or AW / Silver Grey cars, but with my car I guess I should just have them painted Carbon Black all over. I am not going to go the Carbon Fibre route, so not sure what other kind of colour combo would look good -- any ideas?

Good plan. Carbon black the whole mirror IMHO.

If I had to do it over again, I would have had the black part (underside of the mirrors) covered in CF.

A package arrived at the local Post Office for me... so its either my new OEM M5 Mirrors or the Angle Eyes & Licence Plate LEDS.....

(just for the record, I am concentrating 100% on my work and not thinking the whole time about what's waiting for me... )

Well?
It was the M5 mirrors
They look awesome and the Carbon Black paint finish is spot on. Incredible packaging as well -- no way they were going to get damaged! Unforetunately I need to wait until next week to fit them; business meetings and then flying to Germany for the weekend... so bring on Monday And yes, I will post up pics as soon as they are on!!

Just waiting for John to ship the lights (AEs and LEDs) and the summer look can be installed, ready for my trip to Sweden

Very good! I am anxious to see your pics!!

You are going to be amazed at how the mirrors change the way that you "enjoy" your E61.

Fair enough! Here are two images, both of which look exactly the same as those you would find in any other thread about the M5 instrument cluster install or AngeliBright v.3 AE's.

However, I am here to contribute, so say your piece about my pics! I am happy to hear your comments!!

More will be coming later.

YOu guys have some really great ideas in improving the exterior appearances of your vehicles. Very well done. More pics please!

As far as the interior, under the hood, if you are interested in adding hp I have some suggestions.

Race Precision, Inc. (RPI) scoups and block-off plates are very popular intake systems. As far as exhausts, not only do ours make the vehicle sound cool, they add up to 15-18 hp at the wheels. We sell a lot of them for the M5. I can say with the utmost confidence that all of our products are a big "bang for the buck." Our quality exceeds others in the industry since they aren?t purely aesthicically pleasing. At the same time, our prices beat most.

FYI: RPI is about to release an exhaust for the 550 (August 17th). We are also releasing the E46 M3 (August 12) and the Z4 (August 17).

You can order directly from our site (shoprpi.com) or contact me directly (michelle@raceprecision.com).
