Me again! Both keys suddenly stopped working on my e61, the remote function. I assume, guess it'll be a broken wire at the tailgate hinge or the actual unit ?under the spoiler. Any other suggestions ? I've tried re programming the keys which didn't work, the car just did nothing when i pressed the button as directed. I also have a reverse light failure permanently on and i have checked the tyre well which is thankfully nice and dry.

I have had the same problem for some time now, the key-remote for the doorlocks are not woring. I have checked the wiring in the back and its ok. The div.antenna had som minor moist in it, but I got it cleaned, but no improvement. I was wondering if a fuse may be the cause for it? and in that case which fuse?
All other that connects with the wiring in the back are working fine.
A new div.antenna will cost apr nok 2500,-? (£250,-)

In my 08 535xiT, it's fuse 59 (5 amp) in the rear fuse panel.

is this corrosion enough to cause problems? i've cleaned it the best i can using a toothbrush and checked for water (there wasnt any obvious). next step to check the wiring on the tailgate. any particular side specifc for this?

completed the drivers side wiring through the tailgate, found broken and cracked wires, repaired these and now have functioning reverse lights but still no remote locking. can anyone confirm which coloured wire the remote is on, also is it the drivers or passengers side?
