Look to the left of that wired connector harness, I can see the bulb receptacles right there.

Reference the front of the tail light for bulb location.

This two receptacles on the left, one is for stop light, one is for reverse light.

Are you looking in the side panel or the trunk lid? I previously mentioned side panel because I thought you had an e60. e61 brake light is located on the trunk lid.

On trunk, see picture on post 1, led strips didn't work trunk left side.

Remove the assembly to see if something is loose, and then connect it back. You could just have an iffy connection.
