I have been searching but could not find a topic on how to replace the back-up light (is this how to call it?) on the tailgate. I just don't hope it's the wiring harness (again). Since two days I hear (very annoying ) and see that the left back-up light doesn't wotk. Is there a DIY on how to replace this light bulb?

Thanks for your help.

which light exactly do you mean?

the white bulb that gets turned on when you reverse?

try opening the cover on the inside of the tailgate, thats very easy. If you dont have access to the bulbs, you will have to remove the plastic trim there, which is much more annoying but still pretty much manageable - its 12 or 13 screws. BUT before that you will have to remove the plastic trim around the tailgate window opening, on the inside of the frame. thats the only way to remove the plastic trim on the inside of the lower part of the tailgate.

(here some emotional memories of me fighting with the destiny to install the LCI lights come alive... and they're not pretty...)

to see pictures, look at Arne's DIY guide for installing the LCI rear lights - it will be of help in any case, if you have to remove anything on the tailgate.

Thanks for your reply mmitev. Yes I mean the white bulb. I'll make sure to check out Arne's DIY but it looks like I am not gonna enjoy this
