My Ride: 2009: pre-LCI E61 525dA Touring (177HP)
2008: LCI E46 330dA Touring (204HP)
2007: LCI E46 320dA Touring (150HP)
Bonjour ? tous, Good morning to you all, Guten Tag an Alle!
First of all, let me greet you and thank you for all your interesting comments or advices. I'm following this forum for months now and today, I took the decision to participate.
I'm 34 years old, French (Normandy), living in Germany (in Hamburg). I'm expatriate here since more than there years because of my job (working for the European aircraft manufacturer...! ). I have to say that I really enjoy the life here...!
So, since I've been there, I've already bought three different cars, all BMW! My first ride was a E46 320dA Touring, the second was a E46 330dA Touring, and the last one is an E61 pre-LCI 525dA Touring.
Concerning this last one, I have to say that I really love the body. Regarding the engine, my previous 330d gave me bad habits... In fact, the main concern I have about the mechanic is, not surprisingly, the gear box. it's always hesitating and honestly in town, it can really be boring!
I was also expecting less fuel consumption (especially in town). I'm actually burning between 10 and 11 l/km in town while driving smoothly and 8l/km on the motorway (that's pretty good but I'm driving around 140km/h).
To sum up my feeling, I really enjoy the car but I really think it's almost exclusively an "Autobahn Eater"!
And now, some pictures before and after some mods...!
So dear colleagues, what do think of my ride? Some advices?
Just to let you know that next mod will be spacers (in July) and later (by the end of this summer) an Hartge chip tunning...!
Have a nice day.

Some things that cannot be seen on the pics:
- the entire dashboard is made of leather (i mean also instrument panel surrounding, idrive screen surrounding etc.), as well as the black parts on top of the door trim. all interior panels that are plastic in a normal E61 are made of leather in this one. even the cupholder panels in the dashboard (with the buttons on them) are leather
- the roof lining inside is made of black alcantara
- the outside colour is much more "lively" in real life as it has a slight violett touch and a really slight idea of a bicolor paint (blue/violett) if you know what i mean. so it has more depth than on the pics and looks different as the light environment changes
- the wheel colour is not pure aluminium - they are a bit darker, like the titanium dashboard inserts on some other E61s - i like this colour much more than plain aluminum
- it also has the LOGIC7 system. this was very important for me. i rediscovered the idea of sound - I even enjoy the satnav voice now, its so much more realistic
Sorry, have to go now - the car is waiting

My new ride - pics courtesy of the dealer W. Lochmann
I have only seen one E60/61 individual in the flesh. It was an E60 550i at a german dealership. It had all the options available including a bicolor leather interior and looked absolutely stunning. It was ordered by an elderly woman and was a present for her husband on his 75th. birthday!

First off, and enjoy the forums!
Nice mods with the front spoiler, black grills and window tints; very clean and purposeful. The spacers will look great with that combo

I am not the biggest fan of the ACS front lip or those rims, but you've absolutely nailed it with your car -- that combination looks great! IMHO its just the right balance of aggressive and clean/understated
