I don't think it looks bad at all, especially on a car with chrome window trim

It probably doesn't look so bad on that car as it's silver. On a dark car I think it would look out of place.
It's a bit like the Saab 9-5 with those stupid 'glasses' around the headlights. On silver cars, you hardly see them, on black cars they look ridiculous.

That chrome piece is so tasteful that even ENVY didn't have it...and he had a lot of chrome:
...as tasteful as it is though, I'm not so much a fan of that chrome strip...I love my rear end naked and chrome free (not even a round BMW emblem or a 550i badge):

I personally like the debadged clean look anyway and debadge my cars, and on top of that, want to keep people guessing as to which car just spanked them when I pass them and they struggle to keep up!
