My Ride: 535d
Hi,
Just picked up my new 535d yesterday. Swapped over the volvo for it. The swede car just wasn't up to the mark in every department. Now back in a bavarian car and its a world of difference. That said, the drive back home from the dealer was interesting. I could not get the radio station I like and neither could I get to adjust the tone settings. The iDrive was a bugger to handle first time.
After hours of reading the manual (only just finished) and taking down notes, am I familiar with most of the features iDrive controls. Somehow I have a feeling I will be posting a few questions in the near future. Would love to get folding mirrors though, as I found parking the car into the garage can be a tight squeeze. UK homes are shoe boxes. However since the car has extended interior lights option added (I think I got that right) but no auto-dimming, I need to find out what features I would lose if I try and put in an M5 mirror set. And the big question, would the mirrors fold. No sense in buying if it won't.
First picture of car to post today for anyone thats interested....
cheers

Thanks guys. This is a warm (friendly) forum and thats super. Hopefully this car will give me years of motoring bliss. The volvo just didnt live up to expectation. Comparing the two, the volvo isn't a car for any car enthusiast unless of course they are after a very old classic volvo to tinker with. The new ones are just hopeless and badly engineered.
The second I drove the E60 back home, even though its a diesel, the car just felt right. Felt one with the driver. I am still not convinced diesels are any good especially since BMW have made significant improvements on their petrol cars. The savings if any may be or is very small.
Right, thanks and hope to enjoy this community.
