16" wheels would provide a nicer selection of winter tires. Any chance that 16" would fit the 530XI?

Thanks!

According to the BMW web site. you can put 225/55-16" tires on the 530xi. BMW has two wheels in size 7JX16 which are the Stying 134 and the Star Spoke 115.

For a 530i you can use 16", but the 530xi requires atleast 225/50R17. Don't know why..

I checked the 2006 brochure and accessories price list here in Finland, and all the 16" rims and one of the 17" ones (Style 116, for some strange reason) had a small print note: "Not with the x-drive models".

Can I ask, do they list 19s as suitable for the E61 in Finland?
In the UK they don't.

It is really annoying that they will not give reasons.

I was told that there is not enough room in the rear arches for the 9.5Jx19 wheels. Seems strange though that the saloon can take them and not the tourer. Wouldn't mind confirmation of this if anyone is 'in the know'

The Sedan version don't have airsuspension as the tourer. But my EU certificate says that 20"-10,5" wide can be fitted with ET30.
