Hey Folks,

finally yesterday I drove with my old car to the dealership and took home this masterpiece of german engeneering .
Isn't she beautiful?

a short introduction:
BMW E61 530i 272hp
full ///M-package
alpine white with cream-beige/black interior
Dakota leather
sports auto-transmission
black trim
heated steering wheel with paddle shifter
LOGIC 7 FTW!!!!
navi professional including internet connection and harddrive
heated front seats
light package consisting of puddle lights in the mirrors, lights in the sunshades, footwell, inside door handels, under each door
fully automatic trunk opener
black roof
18" Style 135 rims
HUD
bluetooth for mobile phone
teinted windows

and many many more... but now take a look

The little keyring was a present form my salesman, hope this doesn't mean I'm a faker

As you probably know, the latest models have the new mirrors, which will be very similar to the mirrors of F10,

IMHO they are much nicer then the mirrors from the past models. It's different and the shape is very nice, also you can see the lower part is high gloss, there's also an included puddle light like the ones in the M-mirrors.
Before I saw them the first time yesterday I wanted to change to M-mirrors this year, but I will let it be as it is...

What do you think ?

Beautiful car! Congrats! I just love the alpine white on the E61!

One question popped in to my head though.. Why buy a new E61 now, as the new model is on the way?? No offence..

I tell you:

because they gave me a bigass discount and I don't want to visit the dealership every 3 weeks because of the problems that come with brand new models such as the F10.
F10 is nice indeed, but without M-style it's senseless for me.I wanted to buy a car that I don't have to put in another 2000? to add M-package and stuff that comes now with this car.
Another good point is that this model was first built 2004 and now it's almost 2010, 5 years of time that BMW had to remove all the crap they did with the initial models..
I know as soon as i get to see the F10 I will bite my ass but hey, this car is also nice and for me it's like christmas and birthday together

About three months before the E60 came out, three of my friends bought brand new E39 sedans (one bought a Touring) with a lot of equipment. They each got good deals and two of them still drive their E39s - one being a M5. Around the same time, I bought my E39 Touring, slightly used, and kept it until November 2008. It was a great car.

By the end of the E39 model run, BMW had pretty much figured out all of the problems. It is most likely the same with the E60/61.

I won't be buying a F10 until at least 2012...

hey Pat, thanky for your envy
As I was at the dealership(45minutes) to pick it up, there came 3 people asking the salesman if they could buy this car

Lets meet in summer 2010, I would say Nordschleife

My thinking too. Happy for the rest of you guys to test the F10/F11 out so that I can buy an improved one in a couple of years...
