My key unlocking range is pathetic but at least once I replaced my amplifier it resolved my Comfort Access issues. I may try a loop of wire like you used. How is your FM radio reception?

FM and AM radio work just fine, even before I switched the diversity amplifier.
The rib cable was broken right up to the glass, so repair is impossible I think.
Works well enough with the "antenna loop" trick

We’ve had one key stop using comfort access but the other one works fine. Both fobs have fresh batteries. Any idea how to re-add a fob back to gain comfort access features?

There is a break in the cable to the rear window, so I have little range on the signal from the keys.
I glued a cable in a loop inside the spoiler and plugged it into the antenna amplifier, and it gave a better signal.
I will probably have to change the rear window for it to be as good as before
Hello man, could you please explain ir more details how you glued the wire in loop? I have the same problem with the ribbon cable that goes in the rear window- it is broken off. Remote works only of the key is right over the spoiler. Fm radio works perfect. Thank you.

Did you manage to sort this out? I have the same issue, wiring has been replaced through the tail hinge and still not working to unlock with the remote. Thank you in advance

Have you replaced the antenna amplifier? That appears to be the most-common problem when these remote issues start. I know it was my problem.

I haven’t, I will need to google what part this is. As it can get confusing, do you have any details of the part?

Something like this: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/284876303573...3ABFBM9Jqes-Zh is what I bought.

On the E61 it is mounted under the rear spoiler at the top of the rear hatch glass. All radio signals (including the key remotes) go through the antenna amplifier (sometimes called diversity antenna).
