Changed diversity antenna, still issues getting radio stations on FM. Can the problem be the antenna wire from the glass to the diversity antenna? This is really starting to piss me off.

Sorry to hear. Don't have personal experience, but had saved this PDF I saw at one point. Do a search on the forums for more info. Good luck.

^^ thanks, I was looking for this info. I now suspect a corroded cable of some sort. If this turns out to be the problem I just blew $450 on a diversity antenna. Stupid BMW and their hatch/wire design harness along with the location of the diversity antenna.

Does your remote central locking work? I have had issues with this for ages. I did the well documented tailgate wire soldering and extending job when i lost FM and remote locking. Got FM back as the wires in the right hand side were broken. I didnt get remote locking back though so bought a new diversity amp, and guess what, still didnt work but radio was perfect. Ended up being a 15a fuse that had blown. Managed to resell my original diversity amp on ebay for 70GBP.

^^ good feedback, thank you. Next week I will tackle the cables and will check the fuses. One good thing that came out of this is that now I can lock/unlock my car from 10-20m away. Before, I needed to be 1m from the car. I guess my diversity was starting to go...However, still need to fix my FM.
I fail to understand BMW and their placement of the diversity antenna and rear cable wiring. Poor design on their part.

If you have INPA working you can run a test on the Amp, this will save you testing the wires, taking the speaker down etc, unless you have other issues that need resolving ofcourse. BMW has been very poor at alot of things on the E6x models. Cheap crappy exhaust manifolds for one thing, not to mention the 5hours of engine stripping to get to the damn part! Anyway good luck with the fix. There is a bulletin about some placement of foam pads when replacing your Amp, i didnt bother i just sealed the top 50% of the casing with silicone.
BTW my car is an E61, not sure if yours is an E60? If you download the guide on the page below you will get a bit more info on the wiring job.

Two diversity antenna failures, and never an FM problem.
To add my own two cents, I've replaced two diversity antennas in less than a year due to the wetness/corrosion problem and never had a problem with FM reception, only with remote key and key-memory related settings (seat position, favourite Sat stations). That would lead me the same way you were thinking, perhaps the ribbon connector that feeds into the div antenna (for AM & FM?) or wiring somewhere else along the route.
By the way with my last installation of the antenna, I did all of the following:
1/ Mounted on rubber washers to raise it slightly above the mounting surface (like a house on stilts to avoid floods),
2/ filled the compartment with little desicant bags to absorb moisture..
3/ Used silicon grease to seal the lid and the two cable grommets,
4/ placed thin foam evenly across top of lid to help spoiler to press it down, but not too hard.
I'll be avoiding pressure washing in that area, and also opening it up every couple months to gauge the success of these measures in wet Vancouver..
