Checked the tyres on my 525d e61 yesterday and found two close to the limit. Unfortunately the misses was with me and instead of changing just the two tyres she insisted on changing all 4 as the other two 'only'
had four mm of tread left.
Instead of NCT5's that were on the car I was offered a full set of Bridgstone potenza's at an all in price of ?650 including valve balancing and having the wheel alignment checked and adjusted if needed. I thought this wasn't a bad deal as i know potenzas retail around ?200 notes each, but the misses wasnt having any of it and said that they should be able to nock off a bit more than that.Well they did they got it down to ?600 which again i thought wasnt bad, But because they had made the fatal mistake of dropping their price straight away the wife went straight for the jugular, The little Bloke obviously hadnt come up against a Scotts woman before as she told him he would get ?500 and no more take it or leave it.. Well I was as shocked as he was, and to his credit he retreated behind his counter obviously warey incase she got him by the leg and hung him upside down to ring anything more out of him..
He Agreed!!!!!
The Wife backed off smiling saying there you go that didnt hurt to much did it!!
He,Wiping the sweat that was now beading down his forhead, said to me as long as i promised not to bring her back there he would do the whole lot for ?500 all in..
Hats off to the KwikFit manager in Bridgwater Somerset for giving me such a good Deal.
****OR DID HE****

Run Flat tyres are very expensive, so I would say Yes, you got them to a very good price. Congrats to the "little Scotts woman"

I just had to buy one from Kwik Fit in Yeovil (NCT5) and managed to get one knocked down from ?230 to ?200.

Ouch! See what I mean... It pays to take the wife with you
I could have had a set nct5 tyres for ?630 all in, but after finding out from the manager of Kwikfit that bridgstones should last a bit longer I went with them.
I also today picked up Two as new wheels off Ebay which the vendor described as having 6mm of tread .When I got there the tyres were brand new and he had only advertised them as having six mm
tread remaining as he thought thats what New tyres had.
Paid ?100 for the pair....Bargain or What!!
So now I have a spare in the boot and one in the shed.
Managed to source a rare genuine E61 jack off of ebay as well for ?12..
The Bargains are still out there......
